What thirty years taught me

Dentistry taught me that the mouth is never separate from the rest of the body. It also taught me that some of the most important answers don't arrive all at once.

Over three decades in practice, I watched scientific understanding evolve, technologies emerge and patient expectations change. Yet one area remained largely unexplored.

For years, I carried questions I couldn't fully explain. I saw patterns, but not yet the reason behind them.

Like many women, I entered perimenopause with little understanding of how profoundly hormones can influence the body. What surprised me was discovering how many of the questions I had carried throughout my career suddenly looked different through that lens.

The connection I had been searching for wasn't new. It had been there all along. What changed was my ability to see it.

Luxé Aural grew from a belief that women deserve oral care designed with this stage of life in mind, and from a determination not to let those questions remain unanswered.

What I kept seeing

The pattern was always the same.

Women in their mid thirties, forties and fifties - careful with their oral care, doing everything right, would arrive with changes I hadn’t been trained to explain.

Dryness. New sensitivity. Gums that bled, or simply felt different. A sense that something had shifted, without a name for it.

Many of them confused, sure they’d let something slip. They hadn’t. It wasn’t neglect. It wasn't random. It was systemic. And that was the gap.

Dentistry had no framework for what menopause was doing to the mouth and so, too often, all I could offer was reassurance.

That never sat right with me.

So I started reading. Then researching in earnest. I needed to understand what was actually happening - why declining oestrogen changes the saliva, tissue and mineral balance of the mouth and whether anything could genuinely help the women I’d been sending home with little more than sympathy.

That question took me more than ten years to answer.

The search led me deep into understanding how the mouth maintains itself, and eventually to a biomimetic approach that felt fundamentally different to anything I had encountered before.

What began as a clinical question gradually became something larger: a new way of thinking about oral care and the role it could play during life's transitions.

Luxé Aural is the first expression of that work.

Created for the menopause transition, it brings together years of observation, research and development in a way that women can use every day.

What Luxé Aural is for

Menopause is finally being talked about openly - in skin, in sleep, in mood, in bone health.

The mouth belongs in that conversation too.

Luxé Aural exists to put it there: oral care for women in midlife that understands what they’re going through, and treats it as normal, not niche.

It’s the first brand built on Eikonic technology. It can be used by anyone. But it was made for this.

Thank you for reading this far.

If your mouth has changed and no one has been able to explain why, I hope Luxé Aural can be the answer I wished I’d had to offer, all those years ago.
